How to Split a PDF by Page Range
Last updated
Splitting lets you send only the pages someone needs, or break a long document into chapters. You describe the pages with a simple range notation.
Steps
- Add your PDF to the PDF Split tool.
- Enter ranges such as 1-3,5,7-9. Each comma-separated range becomes its own PDF.
- Leave the field blank to get one file per page.
- Download each part.
How the ranges work
1-3 means pages one to three. A single number such as 5 produces a one-page file. Page numbers count from the first page of the file, not the number printed on the page.
If a range is outside the document, the tool tells you the valid page numbers instead of guessing.
Combining the results
To keep selected pages in one file, split them out and then join them in the order you want with PDF Merge. If a page is sideways, fix it with PDF Rotate first.
